In the third quarter of 2021, the top navigation and maps applications in Ireland demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps Go maintained a consistent presence in the market with weekly downloads fluctuating between 6.4K and 11.5K. The app’s active users ranged from approximately 827K to 869K throughout the quarter, showing a steady user base.

Google Earth saw a modest number of downloads, ranging from 2K to 2.5K weekly. Active user counts were relatively stable, fluctuating slightly but maintaining an average around 21K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a notable peak in downloads, reaching 3.4K in the week of August 23. Active users showed some variation, starting at 73K and peaking at 86K in late August before dipping to around 72K by the end of September.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation from AppStar Studios saw weekly downloads between 964 and 1.5K. Active users saw a gradual increase over the quarter, starting at 4.4K and peaking at about 5K in mid-September. Weekly revenue for the app remained relatively steady, ranging from $33 to $46.

GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic had lower download numbers, ranging from 447 to 1.2K weekly. Active users declined over the quarter, starting at 1.8K and ending at 933. The app generated minor revenue, peaking at $22 in late August.
